Hippity Hoppity….

Standard

Easter’s on its way and this year’s Easter dress is one that I picked up last year in Palm Springs on the ‘strip” as we call it, there is a little clothing boutique where everything is priced under $20 and on their clearance rack was this cute purple and peach sundress for $6.

I love the 40’s inspired cut; also complimented by these oxford-loafer pumps, in purple suede, by Charlotte Ronson! Originally retailed for about $200, but I found them at the village thrift for about $9!!!

I didn’t need to pick out a pocketbook; it matches my Easter basket perfectly!

Here I am hanging out with Lucy, in P.S. right next to the store where I bought the dress

Sheer layers

Standard

I heart Ronson (Charlotte Ronson) tiered skirt, Banana Republic white ruffled silk chiffon v-neck  sleeveless blouse, Coach purse and pocketwatch necklace

since the fabric of the blouse was sheer I used it as a layering piece and underneath you can see another BR top, a coral and brown floral cotton-silk blend tank

The last two photos show the undershirt with a cute polka cardi vs. a heavier trench and then on its own with a more summery bag by Loeffler Randall

Tapas Time

Standard

I got to visit my Aunt and Uncle over spring break and we all went to a delicious tapas restaurant; here’s what I wore

striped pants by Ann Taylor; $6.90 at the Village; H&M floral ruched sleeve tee, $4.90 at Village; Banana Republic navy blue short sleeved jacket-50% off 4.90 = 2.45!!!! green and gold scarf ~$5 USD from Egypt

Vintage Cameo worn as necklace, pearl bracelet

These classic burgandy heels, were just the right height for the petite sized pants, $3from payless, and they go well with the purse

The gold hardware on the purse is like its own jewelry, but for earrings I wore the gold dogwood with pearldrop studs; 2.90 from thrift.

Uncle Scott also made the most amazing breakfast food I’ve ever eaten: you meringue the egg whites, then put them on an english muffin, with a hole in the middle, you put the yolk  back in the little egg white meringue nest and bake it, it sooo cool

Date night

Standard

Dinner at a 2 Amy’s and The Hunger Games at the Uptown theater, always a fun reason to dress up; so it’s a good thing I went shopping this morning for new threads.

Ann Taylor skirt $4.90  and  this vintage Bermuda bag in  seafoam green with pink piping accents ($2.45)

I wishI could eliminate the front pockets, even though they’re adorable, the flatter the front, the better.

I had room in the skirt to tuck in the tan cashmere argyle sweater and the kely green cashmere cardi by Lord and Taylor, but the waist wasn’t looking right, so I added the woven Banana Republic belt, just on top of the waistband and closer to my natural waistline. One of my personal preferences is to roll the sleeve of the  bottom piece back over the top piece, to create a contrasting cuff, like you would see if you had an oxford over a suit coat.

With Nine West Crocodile open toed Pumps and enamel flower earrings
